This year I am cycling North. I have cycled to Thurso more than once and as my partner Keith is coming to Orkney with me I will skip the cycle to Scrabster. So the plan is to leave home on the 13th June, cross to Orkney and enjoy the June daylight, then take the ferry to Lerwick on the Saturday. Will cycle as far north on Shetland as I can go, then take the flight to Bergen, Norway on June 20th. (sadly there is no longer a ferry). Then cycle North crossing the Arctic circle to North Cape and on to the Russian border.
